How to Have a Monstrously Fun Halloween!

Lucky enough to have a full day of school on Halloween?  We used to have a half day for professional development on Halloween, but that was taken away a few years ago.  (Boo!  Hiss!)  So, let's make the best of it.  How about making a whole day of fun with one universal theme?  Monsters would be a great theme for the day of Halloween!  Check out the Pinterest pins and ideas below that will bring your monster themed day to life!

I absolutely love the art project in this first pin!  These adorable Monster Marker Prints are from Housing a Forest.

It sometimes difficult to find picture books for the upper elementary crowd.  This looks like a good mix of books that even our 4th and 5th graders would enjoy from Stories by Storie!

Want to squeeze a writing lesson in on Halloween?  Check out these picture book suggestions from Literacy in Focus.  For each book, Brooke provides you with ideas on how to incorporate activities into your writing workshop.

Look at these Ooey Gooey Monster Eye Cookies from Lil Luna - All Things Good!  I think the kids would love them!

I found Art For Kids Hub a couple years ago.  It has great instructional videos for kids.

There are tons of Halloween type drawing videos to choose from!

Anybody feel the need for some extra behavior incentives in the couple weeks leading up to Halloween?  Try a Class Dojo Behavior Management Set!  The kids love it, and it will tie in nicely with the Halloween monster theme!

Then you can get everyone on staff to dress up like one of the Class Dojo monsters on Halloween!

I hope your Halloween is monstrously fun!
